Our History

The McMillan Family Foundation was born from the hearts of Drs. Ced and LaChish McMillan—a couple whose lives have been shaped by service, grounded in faith, and fueled by an unwavering commitment to empowering others. For decades, Ced has faithfully served as a pastor, ministering to the spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of his community. LaChish, in addition to her calling as a minister of the Gospel, serves as an active duty Major in the United States Army, where she leads with honor, integrity, and compassion.

Their love for God, their deep care for His people, and their lifelong understanding of service became the driving force behind their shared vision: to create a lasting legacy as changemakers. They founded the McMillan Family Foundation not only to give back but to instill in their children—Madison, CJ, Judah, Zion, and Izzy—the importance of generosity, leadership, and living a life of purpose.

The McMillan Family Foundation exists to equip individuals and communities with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed. Our programs focus on three key pillars: financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and health and fitness. We believe these areas are foundational to building stronger families, thriving communities, and generational stability.

As our vision has expanded, so has our reach. We now:

  • Provide scholarships and technology access to support educational achievement.
  • Award grants to aspiring and established entrepreneurs to start or grow their businesses.
  • Partner with nonprofits to amplify their missions and strengthen community impact.
  • Offer initiatives that encourage overall wellness, economic empowerment, and self-sufficiency.

By investing in people, businesses, and causes that create lasting change, the McMillan Family Foundation is solidifying its place as a beacon of faith in action, service in leadership, and hope in motion.
